Hey folks,
Time flies by quickly and slowly simultaneously. It has been long since I updated, but I've been here, watching my faves late at night or in moments of rest, keeping my inspiration alive. Thank you to the dedicated posters, I wonder if you realize how many folks like me keep creativity flowing by checking in on what you do.
As for me, I have spent the last few years in a very busy manner. Firstly, I set out to master rich media development for the web, in particular Flash. It took a lot of study and hard work, but I first learned the basics of timelines and animation, then moved on to full Object Oriented development, and then beyond that to architecture and design patterns. These days I use such skills with many computer languages. With that under my belt, and having risen about as high as I could in the company I was working for, I set out to create my own company, and take on new challenges.
That company is now nearing two years of age. Like most two-year-olds, it can be precocious to deal with, but is also getting more interesting all the time.
I've never lost my fine-arts and digital-arts aspirations, thankfully. I've done quick sketches when possible, and followed such tutorials as I've had time for. And success with my company has allowed me to assist others with their efforts - thus ensuring I stayed in the company of excellent creators.
All of this has meant that I have not lost my love for creating things. I feel like these two worlds I've been living in are drawing ever closer together, and I wonder if I could combine them in such a way that the both combined would be stronger than either - development and illustration.
